Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
Paris-Nice, also called "the race to the sun", is a professional cycling stage race of 1260 km. I aim to cycle the race staying one day ahead of the professional cyclists. I will be riding with 4 colleagues (all of whom are experienced alpine cyclists) and a support car. I have been training, cycling to work and up and down the "cat & fiddle" road as I haven't cycled in the alps. There will be 7 days of cycling (March 11th to 18th) sometimes upto 8-9 hours (200km) a day. The aim is to raise some money for our neonatal surgical unit in the new children's hospital. I am a paediatric anaesthetic consultant on the current unit, I will be forty at the end of the race and hopefully will be not having too many crises during it.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Central Manchester & Manchester Children's University Hospitals Charity will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Your donations will help support the New Neonatal Surgical Unit in Manchester's New Saint Mary's Hospital which will open it's doors in 2009.
So please sponsor me now! Your support will really make a difference.
Many thanks for your support.
