Story
After a long (self imposed) break from physical challenges I have been “persuaded” to take part in the Race the Sun event on Saturday 10th June in aid of Action Medical Research. I’ll be part of a team of four (me, Matt, Chris and Alex) who will be taking on a gruelling 35 mile cycle, 10 mile hike up Pen Y Fan and a 2 mile canoe journey in the Brecon hills. We are doing this to raise money for Action Medical Research and would be most grateful for any donations you can afford.
Action Medical Research are the leading UK charity funding vital research to help defeat the diseases that devastate the lives of sick and disabled babies, children and young people. Action have been funding medical breakthroughs for 70 years now helping to beat polio, fight meningitis, prevent stillbirths and develop ultrasound scanning in pregnancy. By supporting us, you are helping to find ways to reduce premature birth, to support children facing a lifetime of challenges caused by disabilities and to develop cutting-edge therapies for rare and incurable diseases.Teams are taking part in this extremely tough dawn to dusk event to cycle 35 miles around the incredible winding lanes of the Brecons , navigate a 2-mile canoe course, and finally summit of Pen Y Fan, the highest mountain in the Brecon Beacons with an altitude of 886m, on an 10 mile round trip to raise money for this incredible cause.
With your help, we're determined to make a real difference to children's lives.
