I am humbled by the support I have received such that my initial target which was only £1000 has been raised progressively 4 times and now stands at £5000

This June I will be walking a 10 Km circuit around Battersea Park to raise funds for the Hindu Society.

The Hindu Society is a community centre in Wandsworth, born over 50 years ago. It is not only a place to come together for prayer; but a safe space for its members, young and old, to celebrate, learn and support each other.

I came to this country 40 years ago and was introduced to the Hindu Society by my Parents in Law - late Mr Surinder Madan and late  Mrs Santosh Madan  - they were founding members of the Society and it is the relationships they built here which shaped my family's life in London. Today, I am proud to continue their work as a Trustee, and it was a privilege to see the Society reopen last year after a series of renovations. All fundraising efforts moving forward will allow our footprint as a cultural hub for future generations to grow. Money raised will support the Society to provide pastoral care for the community; a Senior Citizens Lunch Club; Dance Lessons; Hindi Classes for children and much more.
