Tatty cycles to Brighton

London to Brighton Bike Ride June 2022 · 19 June 2022 ·
Many of my friends and family will know that my experience of cycling has been... interesting! Having tried and failed several times as a child, I finally learnt to ride a bike properly as an adult, and only discovered the concept of gears a year later. I have never ridden for more than about 20 minutes in one go, so riding the 54 miles (approx. 87km) from London to Brighton was not the natural next choice!
I'm taking on this mad challenge with several colleagues in the hope of raising funds for the amazing British Heart Foundation, where I am very proud to work. In its 60 year history, the BHF's pioneering research has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly 3 people still die from these conditions every minute. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £16 could support one of our early career scientists to conduct one hour of research, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. I would be hugely grateful if you are able to spare anything. Thanks!
