Innerleithen pipeband is a massive part of the community playing in local festivals and events. They have a great teaching programme for children to learn Scotland's national instrument and grade 1 drummers teaching the drummer learners. Unfortunately the upkeep of the band requires a lot of money and I think it would be a massive shame if it ceased to be the band it currently is especially for the local communities and for pipebands in the borders as a whole.
