"Thank you so much for my shopping. I don't know if you realise how much we appreciate you doing this for us. This is the first day this week that I haven't cried. Everything was spot on and really happy with the price. Stay safe x"
Nearly four weeks ago the CEO of Disability Support said, we need to recruit a huge team of volunteers to help people with getting food, their prescriptions and surviving isolation. So we did and thank goodness we were so fast. Calls for help started flooding in on the 24th March. Disability Support are super proud to be ahead of the curve for Nottingham City's citizens needing support. We are hearing how people are struggling, frightened for their loved ones because they can't get to them, struggling with mental health, or just overwhelmed with everything. We can are helping ANYONE who needs it and will continue to do so until this is over. We are also running a "Virtual Cuppa" session every Monday at 11am and 3pm to relive stress.
Disability Support is an absolutely amazing organisation - before the crisis they were already game changers for disabled people, the elderly and carers in Nottinghamshire through the provision of benefits advice, social activities to reduce isolation and so much more. But now, they've taken thing to another level. They responded incredibly fast to the Covid 19 crisis. To put this into perspective - as an extreme risk person I only heard from the council about the support they could offer last week, before lock down was formally in place Disability support had already reached out with support, 5 weeks earlier!
This amazing organisation needs our support now more than ever, that's why we are doing these 2 fundraisers - a big kids dog quiz at 2.30pm on Saturday the 3rd and then at 8pm a big dog quiz for adults. Each quiz is loosely dog themed - the adult quiz has 50 questions, the children's has 25.
To join the quiz you need to complete the quick form here as we need your email address to send you the zoom quiz link & password: https://forms.gle/5XYrmQxynZLV8ZJm9 and make a minimum donation of £2.50 through this page.
The top 3 winners from the kids quiz will get a £10 discount voucher to be used on any Pawsitive squad services and the overall 1 winner from the adults quiz will get a free 1-2-1 1 hour virtual dog training session tailored to your exact needs.
