Story
On the 26th of November, 2022, the world lost a truly special person, Quinten E.C Brenninkmeijer.
Quinten was a 17-year-old son, brother, and friend to many. I had the pleasure of knowing Quinten and am grateful to have been able to call him a great friend of mine.
James' Place Charity is a reputable English-based charity founded in 2008 by Clare Milford-Haven and Nick Wentworth-Stanley. It was established after they unexpectedly lost their 21-year-old son, James, to suicide. James' Place provides life-saving therapy to men in suicidal crises. This is done in their London and Liverpool centers in which men are given free, professional therapy using therapeutic and safe intervention methods.
In the UK, suicide is the leading cause of death for men under the age of 50. This is not spoken about enough and is a severely overlooked statistic. To limit the loss of more people, awareness and support must surround this incredibly important issue. By donating to this worthy cause, lives can be saved. This has been proven with the over 2,000 therapy sessions James' Place has provided and the extensive number of men whom they have successfully supported.
I send my love, strength, and condolences to all who are affected by Quinten's passing, but in particular to his family whom he loved so much. Thank you to the Brenninkmeijer family for being so kind and supportive of me running the LA Marathon in memory of Q. I hope to make a big difference for James' Place, and all contributions are profoundly appreciated.
With love and the sincerest regards,
Willliam Zacka
