Story
Dad, you’ll never walk alone.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Mick was a beloved son, brother, husband, dad and grandad. He meant so much to all of us and we will never forget him. He was passionate about cancer research after his own battle with tonsil cancer several years ago. Even though he won the battle, the disease had a lasting impact and meant he was fighting his own body for 6-7 years until he passed away on Monday 13 March.
To me, he was my dad. The man I looked up to and taught me to have resilience and be strong in my convictions. We didn’t always see eye to eye and there were times when I hated that I was as stubborn as him but I know now that it was actually a gift to me, that I know my own mind and what I want my story to be.
My mum said it best when she told us “he is a grumpy bugger, but he is our grumpy bugger”. Though he wouldn’t always show it, my dad was the kindest human and was full of love for everyone in his life. He was so grateful that he had such a big family and was surrounded by people who care about him, especially in his final days.
He will be endlessly missed and never forgotten.
Dad, you’ll never walk alone. ❤️
