Story

Queer Running Club are running a big Queer Relay Race on the 7th April in Hackney Downs park to fundraise for local charity Rainbow Mind. A Hackney based charity supporting the LGBTQ+ community. Rainbow Mind works to provide safe spaces through therapy, community and movement which aligns with our ethos at QRC. We are running 5 x laps of Hackney Downs, there will be 5 teams competing and a special prize for the BEST BATON. This run is also in aid of celebrating All Good Beer, Brunswick East and Tom's Pasta's 3rd Birthday celebration. Come and watch the race and join in the festivities on the 7th, they have a special late license! All donations will go to Rainbow Mind.

From Rainbow Mind:

Evidence shows that people who identify as LGBTQ+ report a lower quality of life than the general population in the UKRainbow Mind exists to address this inequality and support LGBTQ+ people and their mental health needs, just £20 could help support someone like Ross. The help I received from Rainbow Mind was invaluable at a time when I felt really scared and lost. I felt listened to and understood, and I learned practical ways to help manage my condition. But most importantly I felt safe throughout the process and was always treated with kindness - RossWe focus on delivering services centered around compassion and nurturing a relationship with ourselves, delivered in a safe and affirming environment by LGBTQ+ people, for LGBQ+ people
