Story
On Sat 30 Sep 2023 I will be doing The National Three Peaks Challenge with a team of 40 hikers, which involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales, within 24 hours for an amazing charity The Amelia-Mae Foundation!
The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft) - twice the ascent of the Yorkshire Three Peaks, over a similar total walking distance. The total driving distance is 462 miles.
The Amelia-Mae foundation was set up in July 2013 when Amelia-Mae unfortunately passed away to Neuroblastoma at aged 2.
Neuroblastoma is a rare cancer that affects children, mostly under the age of 5 years. It develops in early nerve cells called neuroblasts and often starts in the tummy.
Despite her amazing fight, will and courage! She touched the hearts of the nation with her big blue eyes and lovable nature, therefore the Amelia-Mae foundation has been founded in her memory.
Neuroblastoma affects around 100 children each year in the UK. It usually affects children under the age of five, and can occur before a child is born. It is the most common solid tumour in childhood after brain tumours.
This terrible disease not only effect children, the effects of Neuroblastoma are felt throughout the families of those affected!
Every donation will go to The Amelia-Mae Foundation and will truly make a difference!
Thank you so much for taking time to read page!
