Story
Our London based colleague, Greg Carrier was diagnosed with stage one bowel cancer in March 2021. Following surgery to remove the tumour in April 2021, Greg was given the diagnosis of accelerated stage 3 cancer which had spread further than originally thought. This subsequent diagnosis meant Greg had to undergo a gruelling series of chemotherapy, resulting in blood clots on his right lung (something for which Greg still has to take medication for). However, despite all this, we were delighted to welcome Greg back to work last October.
Greg and his family received vital support from Bowel Cancer UK following his diagnosis, and we at Quantuma collectively feel that it's our turn to give back to them, for the support and help they've given Greg, and more generally, the great work they do on a daily basis.
This year, we will, as an organisation be participating in various activities to raise money for Bowel Cancer UK. We have kick started the year with our Around the World in 30 days challenge, which will see everyone in the organisation running, cycling, walking, swimming and rowing 25,000 miles to raise funds.
Bowel Cancer UK fund targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care. Their aim is to stop people dying of bowel cancer.
Any donations to this worthy cause would be gratefully received. If you would prefer to donate specifically to a member of the team, please scroll down to the 'Team' link below and you'll be able to select the person or event you'd like to donate to.
Many thanks,
From all at team Quantuma :)
