Why the NSPCC???
Children who are abused are often scarred/affected for life, this can be anything from depression, drug/alcohol abuse, PTSD, schizophrenia to suicide.
During 2019-2020 police forces in the UK recorded some 73,518 offences including rape, online grooming and sexual assault against children.
By supporting the NSPCC you will be helping them to perform their critical work which is primarily to help children in a number of ways including:
- being aware that they have a safe and confidential place to talk/communicate with (Childline)
- to deliver their "speak out stay safe" programme to schools to make children aware of the NSPCC, some types of abuse and to think about their "trusted adults"
- to campaign and lobby to make children's lives safer
