We use running to advance gender equity globally

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page!

We are a group of women from around the world living in Doha, Qatar.  We may vary in age, ability, experience and background but we have all enjoyed the right to run in our lives.

We wish to use this privilege to:

  • raise awareness of the widespread inequality of opportunity women face in terms of access to sporting opportunities;
  • show women and girls that regardless of age, body shape, time constraints, family commitments and previously disheartening encounters with exercise, running is an accessible sport and making time for oneself should be prioritised;
  • demonstrate to the students we teach that they too should not be scared to achieve; and
  • raise money for the incredible charity 'Free To Run' which fights for the free and full participation of women as equals in society by finding ways for them to safely engage in outdoor activity which allows them to regain public space and slowly change views about the roles that women can - and should - play in society.  You can read more here...

We've been training hard for this 90 km run across Qatar from East To West.  We would be so grateful for any donation you can spare.  Thank you.
