Story
In 1995, Mary Head was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, a condition that destroys the nervous system and leads to high levels of disability.
Every year, Mary sits in front of the television and watches the Great North Run and wishes she had the physical ability to take part...so this year she will complete it with the help of 8 able runners. Liz Head, Ben Thomas, Phil Avery, Dave Falkner, James Mitchell, Denise Yarrow, Jenny Douglas and Andy Davies have signed up to the challenge of helping Mary, by pushing her round in a wheelchair up and down the hills of Newcastle. Pushing her 13miles will be a challenge, but the biggest challenge will be for Mary, as she will walk the last 200meters of the race.
Please support our challenge by donating some money, and support Mary in acheiving a life ambition she never thought she'd acheive.
