Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Hi my name is Oscar, I am ten years old and I have epilepsy. For a long time, I have had epilepsy and no one knew. After having a tonic clonic seizure and having lots of tests, I have been diagnosed with epilepsy. I frequently have focal seizures and have to take medication to try to reduce my seizures. Sometimes it is frightening and confusing, but it makes me feel better to try to understand what happens in my brain with my epilepsy, what is being done to help, and just how many other people have epilepsy just like me.
Did you know that it would take 715 double decker buses to carry all the children with epilepsy in the UK?? That’s 51,500 children!
I’ve been doing some research about epilepsy charities as a home school project and I really like Epilepsy Action. Their website is very child friendly and they have a special kids zone with lots of learning resources, films about epilepsy and activities. You can visit it here to find out more about epilepsy:

Epilepsy Action have a Purple Day every year where activities are organised to raise money. With any money raised, Epilepsy Action provide information and support to people with epilepsy, their families and professionals (doctors, teachers, researchers). They also help to educate people about epilepsy so that people understand the condition and can help those with epilepsy to be safe and live happy lives. Epilepsy Action organise supportive social events that I hope to be able to go to once COVID restrictions ease up.
It would make me melt with joy if lots of people joined in with this day. So if you can, please make a donation and let me know how you plan to do the 1K! The suggested amount is £2 but give what you can (I can collect loose change if the website doesn’t accept the amount).
