Story
Side note: This project started around 2 years ago and the support we received was amazing! But, sometimes things happen and you take a slightly different route to what you had initially planned - but that's ok :) - now we're here to finish what we started and bring clean water to those who need it most!
Us
We're two university students in the East Midlands trying to make a hugely positive, tangible change to an African community.
Dhuha: "Most of us have never really been thirsty. We've never had to leave our houses and walk five miles to fetch water. We simply turn on the tap, and water comes out. Clean. Yet there are 663 million people on the planet who don't have clean water and a shocking 900 children die daily because of the lack of sanitation. After raising money for a well in the village of Watson (Malawi) along side my previous school, I now understand how clean water has changed their lives for the better and honestly there's nothing more rewarding."
Jade: "I'm in year 13 at the minute, going on to study astrophysics at university next year. Skydiving mostly for the charity, partly to check that gravity still works at 12,000 feet."
Our goal
Access to clean water is something that we take for granted every day of our lives. Our mission is to give this basic human right to an entire village in one of the poorest countries in the world - Malawi.
By the end of the year, we will have fallen 10,000+ feet, hosted charity events, cycled half-marathons and baked cookies in order to get to where we need to be. We can only do this with the donations of other people, like you.
What You Can Do
If you're donating £25 or £2.50, it is still going to get us one step closer to our target. You can also help us by attending events that we will be holding in Leicester, following us on Twitter @PumpAidJump and sharing our Facebook page, Pump Aid Jump.
We'll be posting all our updates here, on Twitter and on FB. Thank you for your support!
