Story
Thanks for visiting our JustGiving page!
We will be completing an abseil of 262 feet on 25th June 2017. The abseil will be down the height of the ArcelorMittal Orbit Tower in the Olympic Park, London. As nerve-wracking as the prospect of this is for both of us, we could not turn down the chance to support a cause which is so close to our hearts.
Brake work to support people affected by road traffic accidents, and petition to make changes to prevent future accidents. We have both fundraised for Brake in the past and seen our donations make real changes. Brake have been a constant and invaluable source of support for ourselves and others affected by deaths caused by car accidents.
We will be abseiling in memory of Alice Greenwood and Imogen Young, both whose lives were taken in road traffic accidents. Having lost two close friends at such young ages, we want to prevent others going through the same grief. We firmly believe that the work being done by Brake can achieve this. Current campaigns include targeting the hazards of country roads and bringing dangerous drivers to justice. The money fundraised by our abseil will go directly towards making sure this work can continue.
