Story
It was the 23rd of April 2023, I was outside in pouring London rain, cheering for runners as they crossed the 27 Km mark beneath the skyscrapers of Canary Wharf. The first hour or so of cheering was just absolute bliss, inspired by the runners pushing hard, soaking in the energy of the crowd around us, music everywhere. A lot of people were braving the elements to be out there, running; cheering; it was an absolute party on the streets.
It reminded me how around 6 months back, I was out on the very same roads running the London Marathon 2022, putting in the struggle and absolutely enjoying covering the 42.2 Kms in the city that I've called home for a long time now. I was sure then, that I did not want to miss another marathon in my city.
And what better way to do it than by raising money for a really hard-working, on-the-ground charity making a real difference to our collective future by protecting and nurturing the next generation. Child Rescue Nepal has rescued over 950 children from forced labor and very difficult conditions working with the local police and prosecution. They also work to improve the education that underprivileged kids receive and have touched the lives of over 50,000 children.
I am privileged and proud to be able to do this and would really hope that you'd support me in my efforts 🙏 🙏
