Story
I’m heading off to India on the 24th July to hopefully toddle up a 6,600m mountain called Lungser Kangri. Whilst I was there, I thought that it might be a good idea to raise some money for research into prostate disease.
I won’t go into too much detail – you can find out all the necessary stuff on their website – but Prostate Action try to fund research and education into conditions such as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BHP), which is thought to affect a third of men over 50 (increasing to half over 60), and prostatis, which accounts for almost a quarter of male urologist visits in the UK. This is, of course, in addition to prostate cancer, which kills around 10,000 men a year. I’m fortunate that two relatives have managed to beat prostate cancer; most people aren’t so lucky.
