Story
Prostate Cancer is the 2nd most common cancer to affect men in the UK. There are more than 52,000 diagnoses every year, approx. 144 men being diagnosed every day! 1 in 8 UK men will be diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in their lifetime.
If Prostate Cancer is caught early then it is highly treatable. However, in most cases Prostate Cancer is slow-growing, shows no symptoms, and takes years to become detectable.
There are no known preventable risk factors, therefore, research centers around discovering and understanding the underlying biology of Prostate Cancer in order to develop ways in which it can be detected early and treatment can be provided much sooner. This will then increase the chance of survival, and mortality rates among men.
Prostate Cancer is a cause close to my heart, as I'm sure it is for many others. During August I will be joining the fight against Prostate Cancer by cycling 180 miles in order to raise awareness, and money for research. Please join me in this fight by making a donation.
