Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. This is the page of Claire Stanford, Emily Painter, Jo Finlay, Kirsty Twigg, Lynn O'Reilly and Kate Downie. We are a team and are to spend 24 hours in school climbing a set of stairs to acheive the height of Everest!!! Are we mad? Yes. Will we do it? Yes we will, with your help! Please read on....
We are collecting money for our school's charity called Project 3580. We would like to raise £1000 if we can!!!!
Our school has been raising money for a village in Sierre Leone, and going out there to help build a school and to give them computers and internet. A village that is so poverty stricken that had never even seen computers before...something we take for granted. Also, malaria is the main killer and in 2009 3580 children died of malaria in the village. Our aim was to send mosquito nets to help save lives. Two years ago our school managed to raise £28000! Staff and sixth formers have been out to help deliver the nets and to paint the schools, and put libraries in each classroom with dontated books. This year we want to raise money as the project needs to continue. April 2014 we are to go out to the school to finish painting and resourcing the final classroom block. Every child deserves the right to an education. Once this is done, we hope to spend some time doing some work on improving their village clinic, working alongside the doctor. Please help us on our target to acheive this.Every single penny you sponsor goes straight to Sierre Leone in our quest to help. So please dig deep and donate now.
