السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ
as-salāmu ʿalaykum
Alhamdulillah (all praise be to Allah) - Who has provided us with a home through his Generosity and Beneficence do we live in comfort and ease.
وَاللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُمْ مِنْ بُيُوتِكُمْ سَكَنًا
And Allah made for you from your home's places of comfort and rest (Qur'an 16:80)
We are blessed to have such comfort and security where we can feel safe and relaxed. However, there are those who do not have a home and are living in poor conditions that affect both physical and mental health.
Project Bangladesh:
Sunamganj is one of the most underdeveloped districts in Bangladesh, surrounded by a wetland ecosystem in the northeastern part of Bangladesh. During monsoons, haors receive surface runoff water from rivers and canals to become vast stretches of turbulent water. The lack of resources coupled with natural disasters causes poverty, homelessness, stunted growth of children and food insecurity. Among the most vulnerable are children who are victims of domestic violence, labour, and emotional and physical abuse.
Government Home for Disadvantaged Girls Sunamganj, Bangladesh, was established to accommodate 70 vulnerable girls' to provide accommodation and a friendly environment for their development. Most of them are orphans from broken families with extreme poverty conditions. The home is the only place of hope for disadvantaged children, especially orphan girls. However, over the years, the building and living conditions have deteriorated due to a lack of resources and require renovation, bedding and other essentials to ensure safety and improved living conditions.
Note: There is a document attached below showing information and pictures of what work needs to be done.
Abu Huraira (RadhiAllahu ‘anhu) reported: Allah’s Messenger ﷺ as saying: When a man dies, his acts come to an end, but three, recurring charity or knowledge (by which people) benefit, or a pious son, who prays for him (for the deceased). [Sahih Muslim – Book 13 – Hadith 4005]
