A stroke can happen to anyone, no matter how old you are. Remember BEFAST - Balance, Eyes, Face, Arm, Speech, Time

I was aged 44, with no previous or underlying conditions and I have no answer as to why I had the stroke in March 2021. The doctors suspect it was the vaccine but cannot confirm – the investigation continues.  Will I ever get closure I do not know but I have started to live in the present and let go of the past.  I am such a lucky woman and truly blessed. I wouldn't change my journey for the world, I have met so many wonderful souls along the way and especially those within my stroke family in the Different Strokes Facebook Group and charity page. 

Every year approximately 100,000 people will have a stroke in the UK and a quarter of these will happen to people of working age or younger and it is the single biggest cause of disability. Different Strokes is the only charity dedicated to younger stroke survivors to provide active peer support through information, advice and rehabilitation services.
