Priscilla's High Hopes Hike 2018 page

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Dear friends,
Many of you may know that my mother, Pat Karle died of Leukemia when I was 17 years old. I feel grateful for the short time I had with her. Despite her six and half year battle with cancer she helped others at all times. This May I will honor her memory by raising funds for blood cancer research by participating in Bloodwise UK's High Hopes Hike, a vigorous 10-mile trek up Devil’s Staircase that runs through Scotland’s Glencoe Mountains.
Bloodwise UK is an organization that is devoted to research to find a cure for everyone living with blood cancer. The funds raised help them develop better tests and kinder treatments for patients as well. The research results are shared globally, a collaborative effort with a worldwide impact.
For most of you a ten-mile trek might be easy, but for me it’s quite a challenge. I suffer from Lupus that limits my training at times. This past year I joined My Peak Challenge (MPC) to help me become more physically fit while raising money for Bloodwise UK. The Outlander television series actor Sam Heughan founded the organization. Sam’s mission is an excellent one, “My Peak Challenge is a global community rooted in the belief that we can all effect positive change in our lives while helping others.” My 2017 MPC goal of completing a small hike in Scotland was achieved because of the emotional support of fellow “peakers” and the monies donated were from Matt and me personally. I am now working on my 2018 goal of reaching new heights while raising more money for MPC’s official charity beneficiary, Bloodwise UK with your help.
Matt and I have supported many US causes with our time, talents
and treasure. I realize that asking for donations to a UK run charity means your donation is not tax deductible, but I do hope you find it worthwhile to support the efforts to an organization that shares their results with the global community.
Thank you in advance for your consideration of supporting this year’s High Hopes Hike, therefore Bloodwise's efforts to help cure blood cancers like Leukemia and Lymphoma. Any amount towards my goal of $1,000 is much appreciated.
