Story
On 24 February, Russia invaded Ukraine following days of gathering its forces along Ukraine’s border. IFAW is preparing to rush emergency aid to two local animal shelters in Ukraine that urgently need help:
Shelter Pif, is located in Donetsk in eastern Ukraine. Evacuation is not an option for shelter staff and the over 800 dogs in their care.
The Holivka Shelter, located in Gorlovka in eastern Ukraine. Staff are not allowed to cook hot food for their dogs because the fire could draw unnecessary attention to the shelter. They desperately need to buy dry food for the 300 dogs in their care.
IFAW developed strong relationships with both of these shelters during the 2014 Russia-Ukraine conflict. We have remained in touch over the years as they slowly rebuilt their homes, shelters, and lives.
Your gift today could help IFAW rush emergency aid to provide pet food, veterinary supplies, and wages for daily care staff to both shelters in Ukraine, and help protect other animals around the world.
