As part of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, the British Red Cross is always prepared and ready to support National Societies to respond during times of crisis.
The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) have been working hand-in-hand with affected communities to respond to the vast humanitarian needs caused by almost eight years of conflict.
How is the Red Cross helping in Ukraine right now?
Providing clean water, shelter support and warm clothes for those who have left their homes
Repairing vital infrastructure such as water stations supplying over 1 million people
Helping repair homes, healthcare centres, schools and community centres damaged in the fighting
Supporting hospitals and primary healthcare facilities with medicines and medical equipment
Supporting people with regular supplies of food and hygiene items.
Supporting small businesses with cash grants or equipment and vocational training
Raising awareness of mines through training and educational sessions run with the Ukraine Red Cross Society
