Story
We are doing it again, we are attempting our second Primal.Kind challenge this December 19th.
Four lads, two kayaks and one monster challenge!
With our trade mark level of ambition and originality, we have turbo-charged the Great Glen Way. This well known national trail running between Fort William and Inverness spans 116km and 3 lakes, including the infamous Loch Ness. Normally completed over 5 days, we are aiming to finish it in 48 hours; hiking and kayaking, carrying everything we need on our backs, even the kayaks!
The question we always hear; WHY?
We know it is going to be tough. It is obviously going to be cold and at times really miserable. But we want to know how far our bodies can take us and what we can collectively endure.
Too often, people in the fitness world maintain their self-esteem solely through how they look. They may not be fully aware of how awesome their physique really is, what feats they can achieve or how far they can push themselves. This is another amazing way to fuel our self-worth and create memories and friendships that will outlast our well defined abs and rock hard buns.
We believe everybody should have a chance to experience their own version of greatness and the satisfaction that comes from pushing through limitations.
The first step is always the hardest. The first step is in our minds. Mental health plays a big part in these kind of challenges and in our day to day lives. And also does the environment.
For us is essential to connect and give back to the local communities that provide us with the land that we explore during our adventure challenges. If we want to keep doing what we do, we need to care and support environmental action.
Wild things! is an award winning environmental education charity based in Findhorn, on the magnificent Moray Firth, in Scotland. Their goal with the Silver Saplings campaign is to improve health and well-being through providing opportunities for connection with the natural environment, offering lasting green prescriptions to their participants. Wild things! will create lasting change in communities across North Scotland.
Just some of the activities will include:
Day Trips: Their day trip activities are carefully designed to ensure older people can confidently and safely access the outdoors whilst enjoying the benefits of time in nature, including activities such as rock-pooling, watching ospreys and botanical drawing.
Care Home Activities: These activities enable residents with limited mobility to gain confidence and exercise outdoors.
Growing Wild & Well: Teenagers and vulnerable adults will gain confidence by undertaking an 8 day naturalist and practical outdoor course.
Little Saplings: We will provide inspiring 6 week health and well-being Forest School programmes for primary age children from local schools.
Please support us during our challenge by donating to Wild Things! through our JustGiving page.
