On the morning of Sunday 14th September I will be getting ‘down and dirty’ with fellow ladies from my workplace at Clumber Park, Notts, where we will be running a 'Pretty Muddy' 5k obstacle course in support of Cancer Research UK. I decided to join these brave ladies in this quest because cancer has touched quite a few lives around me, including those of close family members. I truly believe that with enough R&D (which I am really pleased our University is heavily involved with: www.nottingham.ac.uk/impactcampaign/campaignpriorities/healthandwell-being/cancerearlydetection/cancerearlydetection.aspx), we will find ways to beat most types of cancer in the not-too-distant future, together with helping those currently living with it and supporting their loved ones.
