Story
The Salvation Army Church & Community Centre in Preston runs an Emergency Food Provision supporting people in need with food and toiletries parcels which helps for around 5 - 7 days.
The Food Provision is currently handing out between 900 - 1000 bags every month to people in need. This consists of 160 referrals (approximately) - In the last month we have been seeing approx. 60 referrals a week.
Every person accessing the service needs to be referred by an external organisation such as CAB, Welfare Benefits, Social Services, Children Social Care, Mental Health Services and Probation.
The Emergency Food Provision is running extremely low of food and toiletries to provide for people. To keep the service operating we are needing to go out and purchase food on a regular basis.
Food donations will also be accepted at The Church & Community Centre - Harrington Street, Preston, PR1 7BN or contacted on 01772555425 preston@salvationarmy.org.uk
