Story
As we all know, Prav is currently on a weight loss challenge set by Franny: to weigh less than 90kg by 26 June 2021. Prav’s love for red wine and tasty food is no secret. Throw Christmas, the Six Nations including Andre’s 16:00 lasagna, Monday steak night, Thursday themed night, and multiple crumbles a week, as well as at least 8 COVID-19 testing days in the mix, and you might be tempted to back Franny for the win.
Of course, being a man that finds solutions for most problems (cast your mind to COVID Cuts), Prav has decided to divert his thoughts from Gaudium to a charity close to his heart, Demelza, based in Kent.
Bringing up children and raising a healthy, happy family is hard work at the best of times. When a child is born with or develops a terminal condition, the emotional and physical impact affects the whole family and can be overwhelming. Demelza focusses on supporting each child, young person and family they work with to achieve the best possible life, however short that may be. As specialists in care for young people and family support, they use their outstanding knowledge, experience and expertise to help families enjoy their lives together.
More information on Demelza here:
https://www.demelza.org.uk/about-us/demelza-kent
- £5 could pay for a telephone call to reassure a parent
- £49 could provide an hour of daytime care for a child or young person
- £100 could pay for a support group for a child with a terminal condition (though I assume this is considerably more expensive at present due to COVID-19, if it is at all possible.)
Prav has decided to donate all funds raised to Demelza, starting with Franny’s £500. By donating to this great cause, you will not only be reducing the temptation for him to reach for the red, you will also do your part to ensure Prav’s Macron dresses are replaced with normal t-shirts. Much more importantly, you’ll be supporting a charity which helps families during the most difficult time of their lives.
