Story
Our wonderful, beautiful mother/wife was diagnosed with bowel cancer in her fifties. She underwent surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy - all of which gave us an extra three years with her. Unfortunately, it was not enough to keep her here with us and she passed away in January 2015. She never wanted to give up, she wanted to continue with treatment for as long as possible. We need to support charities like Bowel & Cancer Research to find new treatments to
prevent families from losing their loved ones in the future.
So on March 24th Andrew, Nick & Mark are running the London
Landmarks half marathon in support of Bowel & Cancer research in honour of Gill.
We are now seasoned runners/fundraisers and this is what we have been up to:
Andrew took up running to keep fit and healthy in 2013 and has taken part in:
-Liverpool Half 2014 & 2017
-Tough 10k Box Hill 2016
-LLHM 2018
Nick has always enjoyed running and now he runs around after his newborn son Alfred! Not convinced this will be enough for a good time in this race... Previous races:
-Liverpool Half 2014
-LLHM 2018
Mark is a keen footballer turned triathlete and marathon runner, he has been training hard and setting Povey records the last few years! Recently he has participated in:
-Liverpool Half 2014
-Tough 10k Box Hill 2016
- London Triathlon and Dorney Lakes Triathlon 2017
-LLHM 2018
- Edinburgh Marathon 2018
