Story
This June, I will be attempting to climb and cycle between the UKs national 3 peaks in under 72 hours with my friends Cass and Emily - breaking the current women's record! The challenge consists of 450 miles with 13,000ft of cycling and 26 miles with 9800m elevation of hiking. It's going to be a mega-challenge for all of us (long hours on the bikes, climbing mountains and very little sleep) but we're doing it for some fantastic causes...
I will be raising money for the Trussell Trust, a food bank charity. The last year has been incredibly challenging for a lot of people and since covid there has been a 70% increase of families relying on food banks! The figures of people living below the poverty line across the UK are simply staggering! The Trussell Trust are there to help people when they need it most and now they need your support more than ever. Money raised will support the food centres and help tackle the underlying issues, giving people a chance to get back on their feet.
I understand that not everyone is in the situation to donate right now but your support through sharing our story, words of encouragement or volunteering your time with your local food bank would make the world of difference.
The Trussell Trust.
We support more than 1,200 food bank centres in the UK to provide a minimum of three days’ nutritionally-balanced emergency food to people who have been referred in crisis, as well as support to help people resolve the crises they face. We know it takes more than food to end hunger. That’s why we're also helping people to access targeted support that addresses the underlying reason for their crisis.
