Story

Chris Hewett and I were surprised to discover that there were two Cheddar nutters (us) entered for the  October 2021 edition of the Marathon des Sables, a 250km multi stage 'run' across the Sahara. Billed as one of the toughest foot races on earth (www.outsideonline.com). A chat over a coffee some months back, has seen us become training partners when our work schedules permit.

I served in the Royal Air Force (2005 - 2009), and Chris is an NHS Paramedic, whch links both of us to a charity like Hounds for Heroes.

Hounds for Heroes provides specially trained assistance dogs to injured and disabled men and women of the UK Armed Forces and UK Civilian Emergency Services.

Unfortunately, I had set up this page before I met Chris, and it should really be a Postie and a Paramedic's Journey! I am very grateful for his friendship and encouragement, and the journey promises to be all the more enjoyable (and epic) for the companionship.
