Turning Tides is the largest provider of services for single homeless men and women in West Sussex and they believe everyone has the right to a home, regardless of the difficulties and issues they may face in their lives.

Turning Tides know anyone’s life can unravel into homelessness, so they bring together compassionate individuals and organisations who work tirelessly to transform the lives of people in our local community and to change perceptions of homelessness.

Since 2020, Hercule Van Wolfwinkle has been drawing portraits of people's pet in return for a donation to Turning Tides.

1. HOW MUCH ARE THE PORTRAITS?

The pictures are free. All I ask for is a donation to the charity. The donation can be whatever you are comfortable with and please do not donate more than you can easily afford.

2. WHEN DO I MAKE MY DONATION?

You can donate whenever you like, but PLEASE do not donate with the expectation of receiving a portrait; I have well over 80,000 requests for portraits in my inbox, making it a lottery as to who gets picked out to have their portrait drawn.

It would be GREAT if you could make a small £2 donation upon submitting your picture to be drawn (like buying a lottery/raffle ticket), but there is absolutely no obligation to do so.

3. HOW DO I DONATE?

4. HOW DO I REQUEST A PORTRAIT?

Just send me a message on Facebook with a picture. Easy as that!

5. HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET MY PORTRAIT?

Short answer, I don’t know.

I can’t even be sure you will ever get a portrait and for that I am genuinely sorry. With the amount of requests I have, it’s turned into a massive lottery as the who gets pick.

6. DO YOU POST ORIGINALS?

I’m afraid not. All pictures are just posted to my social media pages which is how it's always been.

7. CAN YOU PLEASE DRAW MY THREE CATS, FOUR DOGS, TWO RABBITS, SIXTEEN GOLDFISH AND THE NEIGHBOUR’S HORSE?

I’m really sorry, but I try to limit it to one pet per portrait.

8. WHY ARE THERE ONLY 7 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS, IT WOULD BE BETTER IF THERE WHERE TEN?
