We support people with a range of needs to overcome obstacles & improve their lives

Story

We are going to set up a stationary bike in the project and cycle the mileage it would take to get to Paris!  Staff and residents will all take turns on the bike to cover the 558 miles.

Portman Street is an emergency accommodation unit for homeless men in Glasgow.  Our service supports residents to meet their goals and get ready to move on to other accommodation, whether this is their own tenancy or supported accommodation.

We will use any money we raise to improve the lives of the people we support.  We currently provide a starter pack to residents who are moving into their own home and need more funding to continue this.  This provides them with basics which they need but may struggle to afford such as pots, pans, kitchen utensils, towels and some food supplies.  This money will also help us to provide social activities for residents to improve their confidence, and to set up an employability hub in our project to help residents look at college courses, write CVs and apply for jobs.
