Story
At Portman, we know many people in our Portman community, both colleagues and patients, who share our concern and worry at the events that have unfolded in Ukraine. We know the impact of the crisis is far reaching and we want to extend our support to all of those affected.
As part of our work to support the Ukrainian humanitarian crisis, Portman Dental Care are committing to donate up to £50,000 by match funding with our dentists, colleagues and patients.
The charity we have chosen to support, is the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) registered Charity No. 1062638. This group is made up of 15 member charities who are experts in humanitarian aid and specialise in different areas of disaster response. They come together to speak in one voice and make fundraising more efficient when a crisis happens.
How your donation could help:
£30 donated could provide essential hygiene supplies for three people for one month
£50 donated could provide blankets for four families
£100 donated could provide emergency food for two families for one month
About DEC:
Intense conflict in Ukraine is threatening the lives and livelihoods of civilians across the country, causing hundreds of thousands to flee. Homes have been destroyed or are unsafe to live in. Essential services have been hit. Families have been separated. People have been injured. Lives have been lost. DEC charities and their local partners are in Ukraine and across the border in the neighbouring countries. They are working to meet the immediate needs of all people fleeing with food, water, medical assistance, protection and trauma care.
