From January 2015 I will be spending 12 weeks in Uganda as part of a team of International Citizen Service (ICS) volunteers working as part of the ICS programme.  ICS brings together young people to fight poverty and make a difference where it is most needed.  I'll be working alongside volunteers from Uganda to improve access to sexual and reproductive health information and services for young people.  As someone who is passionate about global health issues, taking part in this programme is really important to me.

The ICS programme is funded by DFID, but as part of the programme, each volunteer has to fundraise £800 to support the work of the development charity they will be working with.  This money will support their work in bringing about positive social change in developing countries.  Here is a link to their website where you can read about their current projects:

I will be doing various fundraising activities over the next few months, such as bake and craft sales, and will be updating this page so you can track my progress!  Thank you so much for your donation, it will make a real difference to the lives of people living in poverty.
