Story
Hi all,
So we did the Rough Runner 10k in June which went great! Thank you so much for all who helped us reach our target. Now we've been putting in the graft gearing up for The Poppy Rocket Challenge! We hope you have too! So let's see if we can hit that new target!
In case you need a little reminder why all this amazing fundraising is happening, here is a little story about a very special girl...
It all started with a little Alien...
Poppy ‘Rocket’ Elsie Keeling...
Our little hero suffered with a very rare condition called Cloaca which affects 1 in every 50,000. During her visit to this very strange planet Poppy was taken care of by the amazing teams at Alder Hey.
Alder Hey not only helped our Poppy but they have done amazing work for many more families and we would like to show them our appreciation by raising money for a few of their departments. The money raised will be shared between the Alder Hey’s PICU, Urology department and The Alder Centre Bereavement team so they can continue to help families that have to go through what we did and improve their knowledge and skills to provide success in the future.
I would like to mention my brother and sister in law, Shaun and Jo, for their tremendous courage and strong mentality. They have both been through the most difficult time of their lives and they have come out stronger. The most amazing people, an inspiration to the both of us, I don’t think I would be where I am without them. When these two had our ‘Poppy Rocket’, ‘Pain in the arse’ she could only stay with us for a short amount of time. Four days of the craziest up and downs but sadly she had to get of in her rocket and explore the universe.
Also would like to mention my family and how amazing they have been and my friends that have been there for us all.
Any pennies would be greatly appreciated
Thanks, Michael and Sam
