Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The Poppy of honour came about as a result of visiting WW1 battlefields and cemeteries.

The last memory these men had, before they lost their lives on the battlefields, may of been their last visit home with loved ones or reading a letter from their wife, girlfriend or a family member.

Most of those who were killed or missing are buried near the battlefields, very few returned home to their native Countries.

2018 is the 100th Anniversary of the end of WW1, to pay tribute to these men and women who made the supreme sacrifice.

We wanted to build something that everyone could participate from    the oldest to the youngest regardless of their background, Ethnicity      or Nationality.

The Poppy of Honour will stand 2,600 mm in height, 2,200 mm in width and 300 mm in depth, the rib is made of 3mm steel with glass front and back,  inside the Poppy will be 1,115,471 individual Remembrance Poppy's each one bearing the Rank, Name & Date of KIA/MIA of every British and Commonwealth serviceman/woman that made the ultimate sacrifice!

Through the glass you will be able to see the hand written Poppy's with  the names of those who fell, and remember their sacrifice!

"They are not forgotten; They are here"
