Story
Hi all,
On the Sunday 27th April I will be running the London Marathon for a charity close to my heart, in memory of my beloved Scott.
Scott was diagnosed with Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in May last year and fought ever so bravely. Scott went through months of intense chemotherapy, documenting his journey with his incredible mindset and positive spirit. Although Scott received the all-clear at Christmas in 2023, in January last year somehow the Leukaemia returned and spread to Scott’s brain meaning his fight was coming to an end. Scott passed away in February 2024 leaving behind his wife Martina, his three children Conor, Darcy and Harper, and many many more loved ones.
Anyone who knows me knew how much Scott meant to me, not only was he my boss he was like a big brother to me, my partner in crime and one of my biggest supporters. Scott was always there for me and never stopped believing in me. After helping to take over Scott’s business I realised wanted to do something more. I applied for the marathon but was unsuccessful in the ballot. This lead me to reach out to Leukaemia Care and apply for a marathon place via their portal. Shortly after explaining why I wanted to run for them, who Scott was and what he was to me I was offered a place the following day!
It’s not going to be easy but I know Scott is looking down me guiding me through life and motivating me from above. Any donation would be hugely appreciated and I would be ever so grateful. Let the training commence!
