Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page. I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in May 2015, and as a result had to have my Colon removed and a temporary stoma(which basically means you poo through a hole in your stomach into an Ostomy bag). This operation saved my life, and I would like to raise awareness and break down the stigma that surrounds Inflammatory Bowel Disease, as the earlier Crohn's or Colitis is diagnosed the more chance the sufferer has of avoiding complications(and hopefully the need for surgery). I have run all 4 ABP Southampton Half Marathons to date the first was before my diagnosis and the second was after my first surgery, when I just ran in a Crohn's and Colitis t shirt, the 2017 race saw me running dressed as an Ostomy bag, and for the 2018 race I was dressed as a loo roll. For the 2019 race I intend to run as a man sat on the loo, as i believe the best way of getting my serious point over is with humour. Please support me
