Story
Some of you may not know but sadly dementia and Alzheimer's run in my (Will's) family. My grandad suffered from it which lead to his passing, my uncle has it and my mum also has it. It is an unforgiving illness no one should have to endure.
It is a long goodbye to those we love. With little pieces being removed from them every day until the day comes where they no longer remember your name, the house they live in and then eventually your own face. And what can happen after that I don't bare thinking about.
The suffering not only affects the person with this illness but all those around them; their family, friends and their spouses who live with them and witness their shared, treasured memories be forgotten.
From spending time with them both this Christmas, we have seen sudden deterioration and we are overcome with helplessness.
Thankfully we have found Trek 26 where we have joined to walk for approx 10/12 hours over a distance of 26 miles in The Cotswolds to raise money for The Alzheimer's Society.
Please donate what you can to help us. We need to raise £300 each, so that's £600 in total to participate and really want to get a big chunk of cash for this amazing and much needed charity to aid against this cruel illness.
Thank you so much
Will and Pooja
