Story
Hello all!
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!
So, this summer I will be volunteering on a development programme in Ghana, West Africa! This is part of the International Citizen Service, which brings young people together to fight poverty and make a difference where it is needed most.
I've been placed with the agency called International Service - the charity works in 6 countries around the world including Ghana, Burkina Faso, Bolivia, Palestine (and Brazil and Mali although they don't have ICS volunteers going out there). On my training week I actually found out my project as well - which I'm super excited about! I'll be working in the north in a city called Tamale on an education project.
This opportunity means a lot as I've already been involved in international development through a charity called Plan, working on their youth advisory panel :) My involvement in Plan really inspired me to seek a volunteering placement abroad to see for myself the challenges regarding development and of course make a positive difference to the lives of people where it is need most!
Part of the challenge lies in fundraising £800 for International Service. Therefore, any contributions will be so gratefully received and save me from an imminent heart attack in this final exams period! The money will not go towards funding my placement, but instead will go towards allowing International Service to continue to bring about positive change in the developing communities where they work and send more volunteers out to deliver change and impact in rural communities. You can check out their amazing work here:

Thank you so much to everyone who supported me in making my decision - I'm so excited about this opportunity and I can't wait for the placement. The countdown is now on to raise the money so please dig deep for an amazing cause.
