Story
In Hertfordshire the number of ponds has more than halved in the last 50 years – falling from 3,595 to 1,986 ponds. Many have been filled in or built on and many more have been neglected and have returned to scrub.
Of greater concern is that as many as 80% of the remaining ponds are in poor condition with only 3% supporting a good variety of plants and animals.
Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust is committed to helping to reversing this trend by reviving and maintaining ponds across our net of 43 Nature Reserves as well as creating 50 new pond habitats in 2009.
But we need your help to bring our ponds to life. Overleaf you will find how to donate, along with the template for our ‘Pond Bank’ and a number of ideas that you and your family can do to support our improving biodiversity across Hertfordshire and Middlesex.
Please make a donation today and help bring our ponds back to life!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
