We support families after a death on duty to help rebuild their shattered lives

Story

Care of Police Survivors (COPS) provides peer support opportunities and access to counselling services to help surviving family members (‘survivors’) rebuild their shattered lives.

"Your loss is a part of who you are but COPS helps you realise that it doesn’t define you. We are all one big family."

Since its foundation in 2003, COPS has helped hundreds of police families devastated by the loss of a loved one who died on duty.

To support COPS, the Police CPI Charity of the Year, a number of Police CPI team members will be hiking Birkhouse Moor, ready to light their beacons at 3am as part of The Light The Lakes event. This sees teams of police officers, staff, retired officers and police friends light up the famous Wainwright fells of Cumbria in memory of colleagues that have died.
