We are the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK

Story

We all work in the Plymouth Service Centre and want to raise some money for our centre!

The centre works with children and young people who's lives have been affected by sexual abuse. We are also part of the Together for Childhood Ernesettle project which is a pilot community project bringing communities and agencies together in an effort to prevent child sexual abuse.

What we are doing:

We started out thinking we would take part in the Run 30, however, our ideas have grown and we are now going to also cover enough Km's to virtually walk to all the NSPCC Together for Childhood sites!

We are starting in Plymouth and need to cover 387.53km to reach Stoke on Trent. Then we need to cover a further 212.92km to get to Grimsby. The last stretch is 459.8km to Glasgow. This would be a total of 1060.25km!

If we are feeling really energetic we will then try and get back to Plymouth which would be a further 785.36km!

Along the way we have roped in a few friends to help. Shelley's daughter Rocio is going to help. Claire's goddaughter Grace is going to join her on her walks. Sam's friend Jess is going to do her walks with Sam and Charlie, Mel and Amy are going to support Carrie in walking 30km in one day!

Our aims for July 2020:

Shelley (and Rocio) and Ana are going to run/walk/jog 30km each.

Anneke, Rachel, Lily, Sam (and Jess), Claire (and Grace), Corinne, Louise and Sarah are going to cover 100km each.

Hugh is going to try and run 100km and walk another 70km by the end of July 2020.

Helen and Jacky are going to walk 150km each and Carrie (Charlie and Mel) are going to walk a whole 30km in one day (along with Carrie doing a few extra runs!)

Bart has joined the team (12/07/2020) as he  was going to run the Edinburgh marathon this year for SWAM UK but it has been cancelled. He has decided to continue with his training and make it his runs more meaningful by supporting Together for Childhood, his target is 100km from now until the end of the month!
