In 2008 I lost a dear friend, Daniel 'Playzo' De-Gale. His character was and aura was larger then life itself and he will never be forgotten. He did not have many years in his life but he had a lot of life in his years and as a result his legacy lives on with those he impacted.

So what is this all about... why on earth am I DJ-ing for a whole TEN friggin hours ayy???? 

Well... with Daniel, being one of the coolest guys in school with all the charms, impeccable hair cuts, the swag, the wit and girls chasing him (I wasn't jealous I promise), he just so happened to have a ridiculous DJ set up at home and often showed of his DJ skills at such a young age.

Being a huge fan of UK Garage at the time, we developed a bond based on our shared passion for music. His bedroom sound system inspired me to get into DJ'ing myself and when he found out I made beats he wanted to learn how to develop those skills too.

I used to use my bus money, get up extra early and walk to school just to save up and buy vinyls from Big Apple records in Croydon. I didn't even have a record player to play them on but I just knew that it was something I would work towards attaining. My collection grew over time to the point where we would link up and have sets and I would see how skilled Daniel was on the mic also.

DJ-ing for Daniel will be a personal tribute, showcasing the taste in music that shaped our years together. As well as it being recorded it will be live streamed for the world to tune in, give shout out's make requests in true pirate radio style like we used to.

Music is what united us as friends, and 10 years after his passing I would love to use my platform, to  to pay tribute to a wonderful soul and raise awareness of such an important cause, The African-Caribbean Leukaemia Trust.

Dan's parents, Bev & Orin are true trail blazers for the ACLT, in engaging the black community to provide a life line for those suffering from blood related cancers such as Leukaemia and other life-threatening disorders.

I would like to raise £500.00 for a vital cause in honour of Daniel De-Gale.
