Story
2024 Charity Event
Platt Rushton will be completing their second annual charity bike ride and walk in memory of Michael on 15th June 2024.
Michael was a founding partner in the firm and sadly passed away last year after a short fight with Leukaemia.
The money raised through this event will again be going to Blood Cancer UK in Michael’s honour through his ‘Precious Life Fund’. This is a charity which funds research into the disease and provides support for those suffering and their families.
This year the team and their families will be walking or cycling 11 miles, from the office in Leigh-on-Sea to Great Wakering, via the seafront, with the cyclists also doing the return journey for a total of 22 miles.
Your support and donations are greatly appreciated.

2023 Charity Event
Michael, one of the firm’s partners for many years sadly passed away on 13th February 2023 after a short fight with Leukaemia. He will be missed by family, friends, clients and work colleagues alike.
Michael was one of the firm’s founding partners some 33 years ago. Until his illness last year he had acted as senior partner of the firm. He was respected and admired by his clients and staff just the same. He was an inspiration to many young accountants and always had a solution to everybody’s business or personal problems.
Messages have been received from some of his close contacts, all of which pay tribute to his professionalism and personal attention paid to them as clients. Many of whom went on to become close family friends.
In memory of Michael, the Platt Rushton team will be taking part in a 33-mile charity bike ride to raise money for Blood Cancer UK. All donations will go to Michael’s ‘Precious Life Fund’ (with reference 200799).
The proposed route will start at the firm’s offices in Leigh-on-Sea, ascending into Rayleigh, passing through Hockley and Canewdon before breaking for lunch in Paglesham. The second leg will see the team head south, through Rochford and Thorpe Bay returning along Southend’s seafront to their final destination, the office.
Some members not partaking in the bike ride will be hosting a shortened walk on the same day.
Both events will be taking place on 22nd April 2023 and your support and donations would be greatly appreciated.
