Story

Thanks for visiting the Platt lab mudders JustGiving page.

Parkinson's disease is a serious condition and sadly there is no cure available for patients at the moment. In our lab, we have currently started working on Parkinson's disease. We are trying to unravel disease mechanisms to develop new approaches for therapy. One of our PhD students, Mylene, is one of the lucky ones, who are funded by a PhD studentship from Parkinson's UK and with this fundraising event we want to give something back.

The Tough Mudder London West (12 miles of mud & obstacles) on 7th May is an excellent, but very challenging (!!!), opportunity for us to gain some fitness during the training sessions and fund-raise for a good cause at the same time.

We have never done anything like this before and it will definitely be tough. So, we need your support to get us through this! Come along and join us in the Tough Mudder, but be aware: The Platt lab mudders will be the toughest! :) And don't forget to donate.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. Also, donations in Euros or other currencies are possible.

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.
