LANS Plastic Free Week · 18 March 2019
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page!
We are a group of second year students studying Liberal Arts and Natural Sciences at the University of Birmingham. We are concerned about plastic pollution and are arranging a week of awareness activities including a panel discussion with academics and students, a film screening and a plastic-free tea and coffee afternoon.
The week will be a chance for students and staff to share practical ways we can change our behaviour to reduce plastic consumption. We will also consider more broadly the role that media, personality politicians, and academic discourse plays in shaping our views of environmental issues.
As part of this week we are fundraising for the Marine Conservation Society whose mission is "To drive political, cultural and social change for healthy seas and coasts that support abundant marine wildlife, sustainable livelihoods and enjoyment for all". All money donated will go directly to them and we would be delighted if you felt like contributing to their work.
Thank you for your time!
